We had so much fun at the Holi Festival a couple weeks ago in Downtown Bloomington!
Holi is a Hindu tradition, typically called the Festival of Colors to welcome spring, love, and good over evil.
We have traveled up north to celebrate Holi before but we were super excited for the first Holi festival in the Bloomington-Normal area!
Since our community is so diverse, it is very important to me that my children can understand the different cultures within and be accepting. We tried Gujiya and Thandai for the first time, danced, and met the highschoolers who helped put on this event.
They had some local vendors and supplied the powdered colors for $1 each.
After the countdown, everyone threw their colored powders at each other and said, "Happy Holi". We all had so much fun!
