Celebrate the 4th of July In & Around Bloomington-Normal!

Independence Day will be celebrated in Bloomington-Normal and all around the surrounding area and we have the details for you! Here's where to go and when:

BLOOMINGTON

July 4: 4th of July Events in Miller Park!
Fireworks begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. and will be set to music on WJBC AM 1230. Join us before the fireworks for the The Pantagraph's Celebrate America production at 7 p.m. The Sky Concert is sponsored by Bloomington Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts, State Farm Insurance and WJBC. Miller Park Paddle Boats open from 9 a.m. - Noon. Mini Golf and the Sprayground open at 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Park 2 Park Run
This 5-mile run is a challenging point-to-point race cooperatively sponsored by Bloomington and Normal Parks and Recreation, and the Lake Run Club on the morning of Wednesday, July 4th. Visit the Lake Run Club at www.lakerunclub.org for information and to register.

July 3 July 4 starting at 7 p.m.: The Pantagraph’s Celebrate America
The fine folks that bring you the Pantagraph’s Holiday Spectacular delight audiences in this FREE annual song-and-dance revue in Miller Park. Be prepared to be dazzled in red, white and blue patriotic fashion. Immediately following the concert on July 4, the fireworks display will be launched at Miller Lake.  Miller Park Bandstand - FREE


NORMAL

July 4, 9am - 10pm: 4th of July Celebration
Spend the whole day celebrating!

9:00 to 10:30 am - Early Bird Swim
Celebrate the 4th at a special early bird swim at Fairview Family Aquatic Center! In true birthday style, there will be birthday cake and ice cream served at the end of the party (while it lasts!). Special giveaways are available to children who attend the birthday celebration. The pool will be cleared at 10:30am. Free/Ages 15 and under, $1/Ages 16 and older

11:00 am to 5:00pm - Proud to be an American
July 4th is always a celebration at the Fairview Family Aquatic Center AND Anderson Aquatic Center. Come to the pool for the afternoon and enjoy activities, trivia and prizes! Some of those activities will include: Contribute to the Giant American Flag, Slide Contests, and Patriotic Coloring Contest.
Cost: Admission prices for Fairview: $6/ages 3-15, $7/ages 16 and over

5:00 to 10:00pm - 4th of July Sky Concert at Fairview Park
Bring your blanket, radio and the family for the annual Sky Concert in Fairview Park. Family Friendly activities including inflatables and face painting will begin at 5:30pm. Food trucks on-site mid-afternoon.

6:00pm - Concert
Join us for a pre-fireworks concert featuring The Bygones.

9:15pm - Fireworks
Fireworks will be set to music on WJBC AM 1230. (Depending on weather and circumstances, it could be 15 minutes earlier or later.). Overflow parking available at ISU Parking and Transportation lot. Sponsored by Normal Parks and Recreation Department, State Farm Insurance, and WJBC.


TOWANDA

July 4 at 10am: Annual Fourth of July Parade

Head to Towanda to start your 4th of July out with a parade! Parade Route: Adams and East St. go West; Jefferson turn North; Washington go East; Madison turn South; Monroe go East; and Taylor go South and exit at Hely and the school playground.

July 4 at dusk: Fireworks!
The Fireworks show will start at dusk and be set off from the Towanda Township Building about. 8 miles east of Towanda on 1900 North Road. The display will be clearly visible from town, however, most enjoy sitting at the school to watch the show.


DOWNS

July 4, all day events: Downs 4th of July Celebration

The Downs 4th of July Parade begins at noon and ends on East Washington St. in Downs near Tri Valley High School. After the parade enjoy vendors and family-friendly fun. The Fireworks show begins at 9:15pm. Click HERE for the schedule of events.


HEYWORTH
July 4, all day events: Join us for our 4th of July Celebration!

Watch our terrific fireworks display and join our day-long festivities at Centennial Park! Fishing Derby at 5:30 a.m. All ages welcome. Mud Volleyball at 8:30 a.m. Sign up at Village Hall. All participants must submit a waiver. Click here for a waiver. Music Jam Session from 1-3 p.m.. All welcome to join in and play bluegrass, country & gospel. Music from 7:00 p.m. through fireworks. Fireworks begin around dusk. Food vendors most of the day.

July 4, 10:30am-1pm: 4th of July Food Stand at the United Methodist Church, 204 South Division St in Chenoa

Back by popular demand! The 4th of July Food Stand will be held once again at the Chenoa United Methodist Church from 10:30 - 1:00 p.m. across from the City Park. Come and enjoy fresh homemade pies, lemonade shakeups, secret recipe barbeque, hot dogs and pork chop sandwiches! Funds support the mission of the Church.

July 4, 2pm - Fireworks at dusk: Chenoa 4th of July Parade & Fireworks

Don't miss the largest fireworks display in Central Illinois! There will be a parade beginning at 2pm with a spectacular firework show beginning at dusk. The parade will start at the corner of Division and Mill, west to downtown, south to Lincoln Street, then east to 7th Street. The fireworks will take place at the Football Field on South Division Street. Bring your family as Chenoa celebrates another year to the birth of our nation.
