Miss Laura’s Music Class in Uptown Normal is a high-energy music class for children (birth-5 years) and their caregivers. We use a variety of instruments and props to create a fun learning environment for everyone! Music has been known to help children achieve higher test scores, think more creatively, process language more effectively, and helps develop self-discipline through practice. Did you also know that most of your child’s musical ability is developed BY age 9? The earlier you enroll your child in a musical activity; the better chance you have to maximize their musical potential!
At Miss Laura’s Music Class, our goal is to help your child achieve what we call Independent Music Accuracy. This is basically singing in tune and keeping a steady beat. During each 10-week session we sing, dance, and play instruments. Participants are exposed to a wide variety of music: world music, nursery rhymes, and original songs are all part of the Music Pups® curriculum. The tuition includes a songbook with musical notation and a CD of everything we do in class. Parents are an integral part of the class- they are encouraged to be a fun, enthusiastic role model for their children. If YOU the parents are having fun, then your children will notice and want to make music on their own! Miss Laura is passionate about music, loves to have fun, and believes the best way for your child to learn music is by having a great time in class and then returning home to re-create it all week with your families!

My daughter and I love Miss Laura's music class, in fact my daughter asks if it's music class day every morning. She loves the CD that comes along with the class so much we have to play it in the car for a 5 minute drive to the grocery store and on long car trips. In class Miss Laura keeps the students engaged and having a great time and that is sometimes hard to do with a toddler.
