Inspire Travel Luggage: A Macaroni Review

A perfect gift for that hard to shop for person!

December 4, 2013
When my son was 11 months old, my family and I flew to Mexico to attend a destination wedding. My son was beginning to self wean and we were supplementing with formula. As a nursing mom who didn't know much about forumla, I had no idea how many canisters of the powdery stuff to pack for our trip. So I over packed, stuffing 3 unopened cans into my checked suitcase. When we arrived at our resort I opened my suitcase to an unwelcome surprise - formula powder was all over the entire contents of my luggage. It was a huge mess - and an expensive one at that!

Since then I was very paranoid when packing my suitcase. I triple baggied my shampoo, contact solution, lotion and makeup. I placed these items near stuff I'd be "less sad" about ruining if something opened or exploded. I bought all new travel-sized bottles of products so I could pretend they were as sealed as they could be. As you can imagine, I hated packing. It was a time consuming hassle and hard on my pocket book.

But times they are a changin'! Last week I was introduced to Inspire Travel Luggage, luggage designed specifically for cosmetic and toiletries (but the possibilities for uses are endless). What makes these bags different is that they have a hard plastic inner shell that is made to withstand the tossing, squeezing and rough treatment luggage usually gets. They are also 100% leakproof and the perfect size for accomodating full size bottles - that means you can take the products you already own and love and rest easy knowing they won't explode all over the contents of your suitcase. Plus you won't have to worry about running out and having to purchase additional items from the overpriced gift shop (one tiny travel size bottle has never been enough for me).

Inspire Travel Luggage is available in two sizes:
  • The Traveler Solo ($30) accomodates 3-4 full size products and has two tall side pockets to fit other bathroom necessities such as a hairbrush, curling iron, toothbrush, contact cases etc. This one is great for a quick trip or as a gym bag. I also love this one for storing items in the car such as sunblock, wet wipes, some first aid supplies and extra bottle of eczema cream for my rough skinned preschooler.
  • The Traveler Elite ($40) is larger than the solo and ideally sized for a traveling family. It can accomodate 6-10 full sized products. It also has two tall side pockets for your other items. It is big enough to check at the airport and sturdy enough to keep its content safe. The Elite makes a great beach and pool bag too. You can toss in your wet suits and water shoes and not worry about the bag leaking.
  • Both are available in black with one of the following accent colors: plum, light gray, lime, pink, and charcoal.
My favorite part? Inspired Travel Luggage was founded, designed and created by local mom, Kristin Rae. That means you can check some names off of your holiday list while supporting a local business!

The Traveler Solo and the Traveler Elite makes a great holiday gift for anyone who loves to travel, your favorite gym rat friend, on the go busy moms and dads, and more.

Sweet deal for Bloomington-Normal residents: local pick-up is free!
