Family Glow Ride Saturday, November 8 at Tipton Park North Shelter

October 29, 2014
The first ever Family Glow Ride will take place Saturday, November 8 at 6 pm. The Bloomington Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department invites families and friends to adorn their bikes with glowing and illuminated décor and join the free ride on the Constitution Trail.

The Family Glow Ride is a free, non-competitive family bike ride and park party at night. Bicyclists are required to wear a helmet and will be allowed to ride at their own safe pace. Staff and volunteers will be along the route for safety.

Recreation Program Manager Adam Hucek says, “Biking is such a huge part of our community, and we want to be able to offer a free family event for riders of all ages.”

The course will start and end at Tipton North (2201 Stone Mountain Blvd., Bloomington, IL 61704). Varying lengths of routes are offered to suit a variety of ages. Participants can choose from a short three mile ride or a longer six mile ride and enjoy the glowing trail. Drinks and light snacks will be provided at the end of the ride.

Join the Bloomington Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts department to see the Constitution Trail in a new “glowing” light! Pre-registration is recommended but not required. For more information contact Adam Hucek at the Bloomington Parks, Recreation & Cultural Department at 309-434-2260.
