These cute snowman chair back covers have been floating around the blogosphere this month and I’m going to show you how to make them without sewing!
Here’s what you need:
- white pillow cases
- black felt
- orange felt
- red buttons
- cheap scarves or fabric cut out to look like a long scarf (I’ll give dimensions below)
- glue gun
Here’s what you do:
Try your pillowcase on your chair back and loosely tie your “scarf” on your snowman so that you will know where to put eyes, nose, mouth, etc. Fabric cut scarves should be 1.5 yards by 8 inches. Fold the raw edges under and tie around the chair back.
With a piece of colored chalk or a marker, lightly mark where you want the eyes, nose, mouth, etc. to be glued on.
Cut out rough black felt circles for coal eyes and mouth. Cut an orange felt triangle for the carrot nose. If you choose, cut a black felt hat to place on one of the corners of his “head.”
Remove the pillowcase and glue your felt on where you made your marks in chalk.
Slip snowman head with face over the chair back and tie on his “scarf.” There is no need to glue the scarf on.
Enjoy your festive new chair covers!
