TheatresCool announces new fall class; registration open!

We all think our kids are stars and there are hours of home videos to prove it.  But what do you do when your child really shows some star power?  How do you encourage them and help them gain the experience they need to audition for roles on TV?

TheatresCool has been helping students gain the tools and skills needed to grow as an actor by providing professional method acting training for more than 6 years.  This fall, they will add to their successful acting training program with a new class, Introduction to Acting for the Camera.  During this class students will learn techniques for acting for the camera and how it differs from stage acting, as well as learn the basics of how the film, TV and commercial industry operate.  Each week, students will participate in a variety of acting exercises, games, and camera interactions that will lead up to a filmed project at the end of the session.  Students will also prepare to audition for on camera work.  This will be the first of a three-part program in film-making and on camera acting that will extend into the summer of 2013.

Introduction to Acting for the Camera will be taught by Quinn Wilson (pictured below), an award winning professional director and producer, as well as a writer and improv artist.  Wilson has been making films for eight years, many of which have won awards at film festivals all over the world, including the ‘Las Vegas International Film Festival’ and the 2012 Amsterdam Film Festival, for Best Family Film.  He also founded the “Far from Normal Film Fest” and Crystal Falls Productions, a professional digital media creation company.  He brings both his experience and enthusiasm to TheatresCool to help your child learn all about the trade of acting professionally in a fun and educational environment.

Registration for Introduction to Acting for the Camera with Quinn Wilson is open now.  Classes are held on Tuesday evenings, beginning September 25, 2012 at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts located at 600 North East Street in Bloomington.  Class times are as follows:
