Valentine's Day...a day to show the one you love just how much they mean to you. More years ago than I care to admit, Valentine's Day was about me and my husband. A day to bask in our young love and shower each other with sentimental cards filled with sappy poetry, heart shaped boxes of chocolate and other gifts.  Then we got married... 4 days after Valentine's Day. Our day of celebrating love was somehow lumped into our anniversary. Fast forward some years and our daughter decided to arrive three weeks early and right smack in between Valentine's Day and our anniversary. Guess what we are busy planning right now? I'll give you a hint, it's not a romantic evening for two.

Our children take precedence in our family, as they should. A holiday that was once about us adults has taken a back seat to picking out valentines with our children to hand out at school, helping plan the classroom Valentine's Day parties, organizing a birthday party rather than a dinner date, and buying chocolates and gifts, not just for my first love, but for my three little loves as well. This holiday and month are all about those we love, and as parents, it most certainly includes our children.

In honor of our youngest loves, this newsletter is jam-packed with craft activities for you to do with your kids (some you could even eat). And because I hope us parents all get time to celebrate with our partners too, you'll find some of the box date night ideas as well.

Enjoy your macaroni!
