Normal Public Library Fund Raises for Teen Mobile Makerspace

November 25, 2015
The Normal Public Library will be participating in Giving Tuesday to raise money for a Teen Mobile Makerspace.

The Giving Tuesday campaign will run all day on Tuesday, December 1. Last Giving Tuesday, patrons helped the library raise $4,700 for the Children's Department Tech Playground. This year, Normal Public Library would like to raise $6,000 for a Teen Mobile Makerspace.

Donations will go towards technological equipment, electronic kits, a maker station, and craft supplies for the teens of the Normal Public Library.

The library has a generous donation of $1,000 offered as a challenge to raise half of their goal -$3,000 - by 11:00 am.  If they reach 100 individual donors, they'll also give all patrons free DVD rentals for the whole month of December.

Patrons can donate money at nplfoundation.org/donate.html. Credit card payments are accepted and can be made over the phone at 309-452-1757. Checks can be made payable to “Normal Public Library Foundation” and both checks and cash can be dropped off at the Front Desk any time that the library is open.
